Mazda MX-5

Overview

It’d be tough to argue that any Mazda is more recognized and loved around the world than the MX-5 convertible, known until recently in North America as the Miata. The MX-5, which was first released in 1989, brought an unseen element to North American motoring: a small, fun-to-drive convertible that wouldn’t break an average person financially. The third-generation MX-5, which appears in SHIFT 2 UNLEASHED, got an exterior facelift and increased power, up to 170 ponies, and for a car that only weighs 2,410 pounds, that’s more than enough to get you up to speed quickly.
